The projects – including rooftop, canopy and ground-mount PV systems – were allocated as part of the Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Project (R-REP), an initiative designed to make it easier for public agencies to adopt solar energy, by grouping transaction costs and administrative resources.
The projects will be built for nine public agencies in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa and San Mateo, with SunEdison apparently taking home more than half of the capacity on offer.
