Its wholly owned SPI Solar Japan subsidiary will purchase a 100% equity interest in the company that owns the rights to build the project, which will be located in Sukagawa, Fukushima prefecture.
The group — which is majority-owned by LDK Solar — will develop and run the installation, and may build an additional 3MW at the same location.
It did not reveal the terms of the deal.
