Terms of the sale were not disclosed. SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials, based in St. Louis, will also operate and maintain the plant. Southern and Turner say the Spectrum Solar Facility will be the largest direct current solar-tracking array in the US when it begins commercial operation in the second quarter of 2013.
It is the third solar project purchased by the joint venture, which was formed in January 2010.
