The story painted by BNEF's latest New Energy Outlook is incredibly positive for all major forms of renewable energy.

The world will add nearly 10TW of new power-generation capacity over the next quarter century – three-quarters of it in developing countries – and nearly 60% of it will come from renewables.

By 2040, some 54% of the generating capacity in wealthy countries will be based on renewable resources, up from about one-third today.
