In the first phase of the project, bulbs will be changed at a cost of 20m rupees. After that the solar connections will be established, costing 40m rupees.
The City District Government hopes to produce 100-400 watts of solar power each month for each of the traffic intersections.
“This six-month project is carried out on a trial basis. We hope to achieve efficiency of 80% compared to using electricity,” says traffic officer Javed Ali Khan.
