Singapore’s installed photovoltaic (PV) at about S$3.50-4.00 per watt peak (Wp) would allow grid parity, whereas installed costs for large grid connected systems today are around S$5.00-6.00Wp, according to Christophe Inglin, managing director of Phoenix Solar in Singapore.
“Grid parity will be reached in four to five years’ time, or by 2014,” Inglin tells Recharge.
“The installation cost of solar modules is going down with higher supply and greater innovations, simultaneously I anticipate the price of electricity to go up in line with oil prices,” he explains.
