Taiwanese PV cell manufacturer Giga Solar Materials has purchased a 4MW solar project in Japan’s Fukuoka prefecture for ¥1.8bn ($14.7m), according to reports in the Taiwanese media. The array, which is set for completion by the end of the year, will bring the Hsinchu-based company’s total PV capacity in Japan to 21MW, following the acquisition of its first project in the country, which started feeding electricity to the grid in Fukushima prefecture in May.
