SunPower has begun construction on its 100MW (ac) Boulder Solar project in southern Nevada. Utility NV Energy is purchasing all power under a 20-year contract. The developer expects to have the PV facility in full commercial operation in 2016 to qualify for the 30% federal investment tax credit. Separately, SunPower is competing construction on a 15MW PV plant for NV Energy at Nellis Air Force Base outside Las Vegas.
