United Photovoltaics has announced plans to issue $1m of secured convertible bonds to raise funds to acquire, build and run solar projects in China. It said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange that it expects to raise approximately HK$774.5m ($99.9m) through the issue. In November, the company bought 100MW of solar capacity in central China’s Hubei.
Norways’s Scatec Solar has commissioned the 104 MW (dc) Red Hills PV project, the largest in the western US state of Utah.
