A Southern Company subsidiary and developer Turner Renewable Energy have jointly acquired the 20MW Calipatria PV Facility in California from Solar Frontier Americas. Financial terms of the transaction were not made public. The project is located in the Imperial Valley and is due to begin commercial operation this quarter. San Diego Gas & Electric Company will buy the power over 20 years.
