Thailand’s Banpu has announced plans to invest $170m in PV projects in Japan, according to a recent report. The Bangkok-based coal miner already holds stakes in 54MW of solar capacity at seven sites throughout the country. It expects the projects to start generating power within the next two years, Reuters reports, citing Voravudhi Linananda, chief executive of Banpu’s power division.
