“Companies now have to measure irradiation for a year or more, which has raised costs for developers,” Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of the Brazilian Solar Power Association (Absolar) told Recharge. “It will filter those that don't have one year of measurements, but does not represent a reduction in investor's interest in Brazil.”

The new regulations came into force since the beginning of the year, and should significantly reduce the number of registered bidders from last year's 20GW, said Sauaia.
