The installation in the city of Ube, on the island of Honshu, is one of the biggest solar plants in Yamaguchi prefecture, the Tokyo-based company said in an emailed statement.
It did not reveal the terms of the supply deal.
US Power, a joint venture between Ube Group and Solar Frontier parent Showa Shell Sekiyu, connected the project to the grid in July.
