PV manufacturing group REC Solar is set to join the Norway-based Elkem Group after its shareholders approved the sale of the business to Chinese chemical group Bluestar in a deal worth NKr4.34bn ($640m). The closing of the transaction is expected in early March. Martin Cooper, CEO of REC Solar, said: "We believe that a combination with the Elkem Group will provide a strong platform to further develop REC, with added strengths and new opportunities."
