A unit of Marubeni has completed a 28.3MW solar project in northern Japan, as part of the region’s ongoing efforts to rebuild from the 2011 tsunami. The plant in Iwanuma, Miyagi prefecture, is currently the biggest solar project in the country’s Tohoku region, according to an emailed statement. A spokesperson for the Tokyo-based conglomerate said that a Chinese manufacturer supplied the PV modules, but declined to reveal the name of the company.
