China's JA Solar and Mumbai-based infrastructure developer Essel Infraprojects have agreed to jointly open a 500MW PV cell and module factory at an undisclosed location. They did not reveal additional details about the deal. Last week, New York-listed JA Solar reported that its first-quarter net income fell to 35m yuan ($5.6m), from 85bn yuan a year earlier.
Hanwha Q Cells has agreed to supply 28MW of PV modules to a project in Montgomery, North Carolina.
