Toshiba will supply the solar panels, a SoftBank spokesperson told Recharge.
The plant — to be constructed on 53.1 hectares of land in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka prefecture — will likely generate enough electricity to cater to the needs of roughly 15,000 homes per year.
The two companies will connect the array to the grid in fiscal 2016, SB Energy — Tokyo-based SoftBank’s renewable-energy development unit — said in an online statement.
