The three companies might finalise an agreement at some point in the next few months, said the Taipei Times, citing Reuters.
SoftBank declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Recharge.
The report comes roughly two months after Tokyo-based SoftBank agreed to team up with Foxconn and Indian conglomerate Bharti to develop solar and wind projects in India, under their new SBG Cleantech venture.
