The country’s regulator SEC, said SMA’s Sunny Boy TL and Sunny Tripower TL inverters meet the net metering requirements for inverters in PV installations with up to 100kW capacity.
“We are happy that our inverters are the first inverters in the market to receive the authorisation,”says Daniel Rosende, SMA’s general manager for South America.
The Chilean government published a net metering program last month, which guarantees payment at fixed tariffs for the injection of surplus electricity produced in residential and commercial PV installations.
