Mexico’s DelSol Systems will build the plant, which will ultimately be owned by the state of Durango in central Mexico. The Mx$28m ($2.3m) project will be the largest such plant in Latin America, according to the company.
Construction will begin in the second quarter of this year and should be completed by the end of 2011.
This is the first solar project for DelSol, which hopes to boost it to 10MW and build other large-scale projects around the country.
