Siemens chief executive Peter Löscher says the company expects to notch up stimulus-linked orders topping €15bn between now and 2012. Some 40% of the windfall – or €6bn – will be booked with its rapidly expanding environmental division.
The prediction comes as Siemens has become increasingly reliant on its environmental and renewable-energy divisions for good news. Among Siemens’ five energy businesses, its renewables arm was the only one to see sales and earnings rise in the first half of the year, and it also boasted the company's highest profit margin.
