Shunfeng names Wuxi Suntech's Luo as new CEO

Fast-growing Chinese solar group Shunfeng has named Eric Luo as its new chief executive, poaching him from its Wuxi Suntech subsidiary where he occupied the same post.

Luo – a RechargeThought Leader – took the CEO reins at Shunfeng yesterday, replacing Zhang Yi.

The latter will continue as chairman of Shunfeng, in a move the company said would allow it to comply with rules over the separation of the two roles.

Luo, 49, was a senior executive of Suntech Power until Shunfeng in early 2014 acquired the main Chinese unit of the insolvent former global module number-one.
