Sales in its energy solutions division fell 46.6% on the year to ¥36.8bn, driving the unit to an operating loss of ¥3.9bn.
The Osaka-based electronics group attributed the decline in sales to lower residential and industrial demand for its solar panels in Japan.
It said the recent $265m sale of its US solar development unit, Recurrent Energy, also negatively impacted its profitability.
