The Osaka-based group may supply PV systems to utility-scale projects in Mongolia, the Philippines and Indonesia, The Nikkei reported this week.

It may also obtain solar modules from other suppliers to deliver to the countries, Bloomberg said, citing company sources.

The tentative plans indicate that Sharp will remain in the solar business, even though it had significantly scaled back its global operations prior to Foxconn’s recent purchase of a 66% stake in the company for ¥388.8bn.
