The OneGiga project will cost €1.28bn ($1.65bn) to build and cover 3,000 hectares, says Luxembourg-based Securum.

It is due to be installed in 100 phases of 10MW each during the 2013-2015 period.

The giant project – which its developer says could be the world’s largest – will use technology from Italian PV company MX
