Owner Half Moon Ventures, a renewable energy company, will operate the system and related 4.2MW PV facility that the local municipal utility of the Village of Minster will primarily use.

The storage system provides four distinct revenue streams for Half Moon and the village: fast response frequency regulation; transmission & distribution cost deferral; power quality improvements and peak demand shaving.

This is attractive for solar and wind developers who are able to generate more revenue out of project sites.
