The project will be located in Derbyshire and could meet the average needs of more than 1,000 homes every year, it said.
The application followed consultations with local communities, including engagement with key stakeholders and a public exhibition which was attended by more than 50 residents, said RES.
"The feedback we have received has been particularly encouraging, as almost 80% of respondents indicated they are approving or strongly approving of the Arkwright Solar Farm proposal specifically," said Eliot Davies, RES project manager.
