Tokyo-based company Renova — not to be confused with Brazilian renewables developer Renova Energia — expects to complete the project in the town of Ozu, Kumamoto prefecture, in April 2016.
It did not reveal a PV panel supplier for the project.
Earlier this week, financial services provider Orix and engineering specialist Kyudenko started building an 11.1MW solar array in the city of Uki, Kumamoto prefecture.
