ReNew – whose largest backer is Goldman Sachs – secured contracts for 522MW in the tender, which saw winning bids ranging between 5.08 rupees/kWh ($0.076/kWh) and 7.79 rupees/kWh, depending on project size.
Other developers to secure significant capacity in the process include Suzlon, the Indian wind group which is expanding into solar and won 175MW in Jharkhand.
US renewables giant SunEdison secured 150MW while Indian power-producer OPG won 124MW.
