On the day Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives for a state visit to the US, REC Silicon said 400 of its 720 employees would be laid off at the plant in Washington State without an end to the dispute, which has led to a 57% import duty being slapped on its solar-grade polysilicon imports into China.
REC Silicon has already cut production by half at Moses Lake.
