Today, only a handful of companies make such premium high-effiency modules using crystalline silicon (c-Si) at scale – California-based SunPower and Japan’s Panasonic prominent among them.
Just 3% of the PV capacity installed globally this year will comprise these c-Si n-type premium modules, market researcher NPD Solarbuzz predicts. That is flat on 2012 and 2013's levels, and down from a 4% market share in 2011.
