They will build the project — which will likely generate enough electricity to cater to the needs of about 5,000 homes — on a 200-acre plot of land in Kern county near Lost Hills, roughly 70km northwest of the city of Bakersfield.
The electricity will be sold to utility Southern California Edison (SCE) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Panasonic and Coronal have already jointly developed roughly 100MW of solar.
