Pakistan's AEDB to approve 1GW of PV for development — reports

Pakistan’s Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) plans to award the right to develop roughly 1.1GW of solar capacity at 35 sites throughout the country, according to local media reports.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has already signed power purchase agreements with local developers Crest Energy, Apollo Solar and Best Green Energy Pakistan to install 100MW each at the $1.5bn Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park in Bahawalpur, Punjab.

The AEDB has also issued letters of support to for an additional 47.8MW of PV capacity to be installed by six undisclosed Pakistani developers, Pakistan Today reports, citing government sources.
