In some of his first comments since taking the reins, Ajay Goel indicated that Tata will continue making PV cells and modules only if doing so complements its broader plan to bring cheap solar energy to India, as both a developer and system integrator.
“The focus has changed from manufacturing modules to providing solutions,” Goel told the Hindu Business Line.
Tata Solar has 125MW and 84MW of production capacity for crystalline silicon (c-Si) modules and cells respectively, making it one of the country’s three largest producers.
