A Meyer Burger spokesperson declined to provide details. Officials in the town of Aracati in Ceara says that the local council has approved donation of public land for construction of the panel plant, which they understand could eventually employ 1,200 people.
The officials say Aracati Mayor Ivan Silverio has met with the Federal Education, Science and Technology Institute (IFCE) in Ceara to discuss training of workers that will staff the plant.
