Three of the projects, each with an individual capacity of 11MW, are located near to the city of Ma’an in south-central Jordan – at Al Ward Al Joury, Al Zahrat Al Salam and Al Zanbaq.
The fourth, Jordan Solar One with a capacity of 24MW, is to be constructed near the northern town of Mafraq.
“Jordan currently imports 95% of its power needs, which costs around a fifth of the country’s gross domestic product, and the development and construction of renewable projects such as these will be essential for its future,” says Henrique Rodrigues, chief executive of Martifer Solar.
