LDK, based in the nearby Jiangxi province, signed the deal with the government of green-minded Yancheng City. The 500MW of capacity will be spread among PV ground-power stations, rooftop arrays and building-integrated systems.
Analysts speculate that LDK may have swiped the deal from Chinese PV-panel maker Renesola, which announced its own 500MW “letter of intent” with Yancheng City in July.
Yancheng City is already one of the “most important wind-power bases in China”, possessing the longest coastal stretch in Jiangsu province, according to Yancheng mayor Li Qiang.
