In purchasing the 70% stake in the Milan-based Solar Green, LDK says it is looking to build and operate additional photovoltaic (PV) arrays in Italy, “which is currently one of the most dynamic and profitable European markets,” according to chief executive Xiaofeng Peng.
Peng says LDK is banking on the Italian PV market growing substantially over the next three years.
In early July LDK announced it had hired Italian PV integrator ESPE to build it five 1-megawatt (MW) arrays in the Apulia region of Italy.
