KKR bought 80% of X-ELIO in a deal that gave the global PV group an enterprise value of $1bn, and set out plans to have up to 2.5GW operating by 2020.
The deal was first announced in July 2015, and by the end of last year the former Gestamp Solar said it had 300MW in operation or construction, and had taken a role in the development of more than 600MW.
