Japan’s solar market has traditionally relied on residential systems but a new, very generous feed-in tariff introduced by the government on 1 July has brought a major shift in the market, supporting construction of megawatt-scale solar farms.
In the three months since the FIT was launched, nearly 1.5GW of projects have applied and qualified for the subsidy, according to NPD Solarbuzz.
