The sale will spare jobs and allow Ecostream to continue with “business as usual”. Eneco has slowly been acquiring chunks of Econcern’s operations since the company’s troubles began in early April, when it was unable to replace its existing financing facility.
In mid-June Eneco finalised plans to take over Evelop and Ecofys, Econcern’s project development and consulting divisions respectively. It has always maintained its interest in purchasing Ecostream as well, but that deal has proven more difficult to seal.
