The Ministry of Energyand Mineral Resources will announce the winners of the tender process nextmonth. The projects will start to come on line in the middle of 2014, accordingto state-run news agency Antara, quoting government officials.
Investment in the projectsis expected to reach 2.8trn rupiah ($249m). Jakarta has reportedly allocated400bn rupiah for PV development this year.
The ministrysays most of the plants will be about 1MW each, with the largest — 6MW— in Jayapura, capital of the eastern provinceof Papua.
Most of the other projects willbe built in eastern parts of the archipelago, including Sulawesi, NusaTenggara and the Maluku islands.
