India – which has ramped up its solar ambitions to 100GW by 2022 under the government of Narendra Modi – invited all the country’s states to put themselves forward for the solar programme and agree to host plants above 500MW.
Among the 12 proposing to take part, the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir would have a total of 7.5GW, while the northwestern state of Rajasthan will have 3.7GW,
