China-based Hanwha SolarOne will deliver the modules to an unnamed “leading PV developer” for a project in the country’s Antofagasta Region.
Delivery will start in the current quarter with the plant due to be completed in this year’s Q2.
Chile has emerged as one of the global hotspots for PV, with major developers heading for the South American nation.
SolarOne’s parent group, Hanwha Chemical, said in December it will merge the business with its other PV manufacturing operation, Hanwha Q Cells.
