The wafers will come from 1366's planned New York state factory, which is scheduled to come on line in 2017.
The deal follows up on a year-long strategic partnership and joint R&D efforts that led the two companies to reach a maximum efficiency of 19.1% in Hanwha Q Cells' Q.antum cell when using wafers from the US company.
Hanwha Q Cells is backed by Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group and is headquartered in Seoul, with its research base in Germany.
