GD Solar will shut down 400MW of PV module production capacity, as well as 180MW of production lines for crystalline silicon solar cells and 60MW of production capacity for thin-film PV cells.
Parent Guodian Technology & Environment said that GD Solar will scale back its operations in response to failed attempts at market expansion, low utilisation rates of its production lines and high manufacturing costs.
