China Guodian, one of the country’s “big five” power companies, is trialling two suppliers of the technology at a 10MW project just outside Golmud, Qinghai province.
Suncore is building a 50MW HCPV project, expected to be the world’s largest when completed next year.
“We’re using it as a kind of showroom for our customers,” says Vicente Diaz, director of HCPV technology at Spanish group Isofotón, one of the suppliers to the Guodian project.
