The project – located on 190 hectares of public land in Chile’s northern Antofagasta region – is being developed in partnership with local developer Pacific Solar S.A.
Greenwood has not yet awarded the module contract, but “has received significant interest” and is working with a handful of tier-one suppliers, according to Estban Tripodi, Greenwood’s head of Latin America.
Upon its completion as early as first-quarter 2016, the project will sell all of its output onto Chile’s spot electricity market.
