The deal follows an initial $275m agreement — signed with Myanmar’s government in May — to build the Southeast Asian nation’s first utility-scale solar plant over the next three years.
Under the new $350m agreement, Thailand’s Green Earth Power will build the project on an 850-acre site near the city of Minbu, north of Yangon in the country’s Magwe division.
The Myanmar Times quoted Green Earth managing director U Aung Thiha as saying that the company will construct the first 50MW of the project by March 2016.
