Bilbao-based GES’s contract will see it build the plant itself, two substations, and a 15km high-voltage transmission line. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Conejo, located 30km east of Taltal in Chile’s Antofagasta region, will use modules supplied by China’s JinkoSolar. The project is due on-line in 2016.
Earlier this month Pattern Development – the parent of renewables yieldco Pattern Energy – secured finance for Conejo, although it declined to specify where the money comes from.
